Willow Fire - 2004 - Tonto NF, Payson, AZ. Assigned to Crash Rescue for 10 helicopters, 4 SEATs, 2 Air Attack Coordinators, The Governor, and a host of public planes. Covered 19 shifts with two crews. The assignment was eventually called on account of 2 days of rain (including some heavy local flooding). Will never forget "5:00 Charlie" in his Lear jet buzzing the airport at 10:00 PM making his infrared drops.
